12/23/2023 0 Comments Tamper proof bit set![]() ![]() It includes a variety of bits in sizes from T5-T40 in a standard 0.25-inch hex shape that’s compatible with most screwdrivers, impact drivers, and drills. They even come in a hard plastic case to keep them organized.įor the best value, we suggest the Amartisan Tamper Resistant Torx Bit Set. This set includes 13 premium Torx bits spanning a range of sizes from T8-T60 that are made from premium S2 alloy steel with chrome vanadium steel sockets for superior strength. The Neiko 10071A Torx Bit Socket Set was our favorite of them all. ![]() In our reviews, we compared some of the best Torx sets on the market, but we’d like to remind you about our favorites so they’re fresh in your mind. Nothing else can take the place of one of these star-shaped bits. You may not run into Torx-head fasteners all the time, but when you do, there’s no substitute for a Torx bit kit. Can’t have good leverage and reach together.Too bad one of them twisted the very first time we used it! These bits aren’t cheap, and at this price, that level of quality is unacceptable for us. But all that would be acceptable if the sockets were great. If you don’t have all the sizes already, that’s going to make this a pretty hefty investment. If you want to use all 13 sockets, you’re going to need three different socket wrenches. If you accidentally knock it over while the case is open, your sockets are going everywhere. It looks great, but it doesn’t actually hold the bits. But even though these are excellent features, it wasn’t enough to make up for this kit’s shortcomings.įirst, the case is awful. It had several stand-out features like the polished and chrome plating that offers excellent corrosion resistance or the limited lifetime warranty that the set is backed by. With 13 Torx bits stored in a plastic case, the LEXIVON LX-143 Torx Bit Socket Set could have been one of our favorites. We prefer the sets that offer a bit more durability, especially when they’re at the higher end of the price range. ![]() Once that happens, they’re no longer much use, and they won’t even fold into the handle properly anymore. If you apply too much force to the thinner wrenches, they’ll twist. The biggest problem we encountered with this Torx set is that it’s not very strong. Unfortunately, it’s not well made, so several of the wrenches were stuck and didn’t want to open. The whole set is contained within a folding handle like a set of Allen wrenches. If you need something bigger than T30, you’ll have to look somewhere else. In this set, you’ll get 10 bits of different sizes, ranging from T6 to T30. These bits will fit precisely on tamper-resistant screws to allow you to remove or install them with ease. That’s why the Titan 12710 Tamper Proof Star Key Set features bits with drilled tips. If you need to remove tamper-resistant security screws, a standard set of Torx bits just won’t cut it. We wish they spanned a wider range of sizes, but you can’t have everything. They’re also clearly labeled on the butt of each screwdriver so you can always quickly find the tool you’re looking for. These screwdrivers are well-balanced and feel good in the hand. This results in fewer stripped bits, helping them to last longer. All of the tips are precision-machined, guaranteeing a secure fit between the bit and faster. The shafts and tips are made of hardened, high alloy chrome vanadium molybdenum steel that’s less brittle than standard chrome vanadium steel, so it will hold up through years of abuse. ![]() These screwdrivers feature Softfinish handles with cushioned grips that are comfortable to hold. There’s only six in the set, ranging from T6 to T15, and they’re more expensive than most of the sets we tested unless you factor in the cost of additional tools to make use of the other bits, which you don’t need with this set. But the Wiha 36291 Screwdriver Torx Set is a set of screwdrivers with Torx heads that’s ready to use as is. Many of the Torx sets on this list are bits or sockets, meaning they require additional tools to work. ![]()
